Honeycomb panels, due to their multiple physical properties and ease of processing and molding, are widely used in many industries and are popular with consumers. Here's a brief overview of the bonding requirements for different parts of a honeycomb panel sandwich structure:

1. Honeycomb Panel Surface Adhesive: This is the main type of adhesive used to improve bond strength. It avoids pre-impregnating adhesive nodules on the core end faces, playing a decisive role in the strength and performance of the honeycomb structure. Excellent comprehensive performance is required, including high peel strength, fatigue strength, and resistance to media, aging, and heat. To improve processability, the surface adhesive should have good self-filling properties during curing, automatically forming adhesive on the core end faces.

2. Honeycomb Panel Edge Sealing Adhesive: Primarily used for bonding the side edges of the core to the sealing components. Its strength performance is measured by pull-out strength, shear strength, and compressive strength. It requires certain comprehensive performance characteristics, emphasizing low curing pressure, good filling performance, low volatile matter emissions during curing, light weight per unit volume, and simple processing. The curing temperature is the same as the surface panel, and it has a certain rigidity after curing.

3. Honeycomb panel joint adhesive: After curing, it should not be foamy. It is mainly used for bonding joints or inserts. The basic requirements are the same as the edge sealing adhesive, but it has higher pitting strength, shear strength, and rigidity to transfer concentrated loads.

4. Honeycomb panel core adhesive: Due to the enclosed working environment of the core adhesive, the requirements for its resistance to media and aging can be appropriately relaxed. It is used for bonding between honeycomb aluminum foils. Its strength index is the bonding strength of the core joints, requiring high joint strength (reflected in high peel strength), good toughness, and good processability. The core adhesive needs to be used in liquid form, requiring moderate viscosity, long active period, and insensitivity to the surface condition of the aluminum foil. Its working temperature should be able to withstand the curing temperature and repeated curing process when bonding the surface panel and the core.

The honeycomb panel's superior performance can only be demonstrated by using a suitable adhesive to firmly bond it to the core material. Different adhesives will produce different results.
